COVID-19 Response

The safety of our customers, donors, volunteers, and staff is our priority. In response to the COVID-19 virus, we are taking the following actions in an abundance of caution and to do our part to reduce exposure of at-risk members in our community. We are closely watching the recommendations of local public health agencies and we will update our practices as recommendations change, so please continue to check back here for up to date information. 

COVID-19 Response Measures:
  • The Habitat ReStore will be re-opening on Friday, May 22nd with the following safety procedures in place
    • FACE MASKS are required to be worn by all customers and staff while in the store. If you do not have one, we will be selling masks for $1 each.

    • NEW HOURS to allow staff time to sanitize all surfaces each day thoroughly: Tuesday – Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

    • OCCUPANCY LIMITATIONS may require customers to wait to enter the store to enable social distancing.
  • Effective May 18, the Habitat Offices are accepting visitors by appointment only. Call (434) 528-3774 to set up an appointment.
  • We are not scheduling any outside volunteer group to help with the home builds, but we look forward to partnering with the community at the build sites again soon.

During this crisis, a time of worry and isolation, please remember there are local families in desperate need of a safe and affordable home.
