Wiley & Wilson Green Build - 407 Wise StreetGreater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity is partnering with another Lynchburg landmark company to build "green". Wiley & Wilson is a 101-year-old, employee-owned architectural & engineering firm (more information on the company here). The company brings expertise in green construction to help Habitat work to build a house with a family in Lynchburg and, in so doing, achieve the EarthCraft green construction standards. The house's development, conservation of building materials, and energy-saving construction techniques will be closely documented. It is a goal of this partnership that this building construction process be sustained in future residential construction projects. Another wonderful aspect of building with Habitat is the development of partnerships with businesses, organizations, schools, and churches. Bank of America, Cycle Systems, Evergreen Basement, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, & Randolph College are all partnering in the elimination of sub-standard housing in our community. Greater Lynchburg Habiat for Humanity, Wiley & Wilson, and Bank of America intend to use this home building project as an educational opportunity for the Lynchburg residents, and invite the community watch the building process as it unfolds, both on this site and Wiley & Wilson's.
