Impact

Webster’s definition of impact is from the Latin: to push against to change.

GLHFH has…

  • impacted substandard housing in Lynchburg 268 times by building one house at a time,

  • impacted the economic stability of the city by contributing over $14 million dollars in assessed property values,

  • impacted the environment by removing blight housing,

  • impacted individuals by creating increased self-worth and a sense of security,

  • impacted organizations by increasing awareness of others by utilizing employees to build houses and to foster improved employee/employer relationships,

  • impacted and broken the cycle of poverty for over 500 children who live in Habitat homes,

  • impacted and empowered individuals to earn homeownership and learn to be good stewards of their time and talents by investing 300 hours of sweat equity into their homes and the homes of others,

  • impacted individuals to become better parents, employees, and better members of the community.
